Moving from Salesforce to Doodali
The easiest way out of Salesforce is a report with your accounts and contacts, exported as a CSV.
Updated 30 September 2026
1. Export from Salesforce
- In Salesforce, open Reports and press New Report.
- Choose the Contacts & Accounts report type, and add the columns you want: account name, website, phone, billing address, and each contact’s name, email, phone and title.
- Set the filter to show all contacts (not just yours), run the report, then Export → Details Only → Comma Delimited .csv.
- For everything at once, Setup → Data Export exports every object as CSV files in a zip. Use the Contact and Account files.
2. Import into Doodali
- In Doodali, open the business you’re bringing across, then go to Settings → Import and export and press Import clients from a CSV (or press Import on the Clients page).
- Choose the file. Doodali reads the column headings and matches them for you: company name, email, phone, address, VAT number, notes, and the contact’s name, email, phone and job title.
- Check the matches. Anything Doodali couldn’t match is set to “Skip”: choose a field for it, or leave it out.
- Press Import. Each row becomes a client with its main contact. More people at a company that’s already there are added as its contacts, and clients already in Doodali are skipped, so you can import again safely.
Tips for Salesforce
- A Contacts & Accounts report gives one row per person with their account, so companies come across with their people.
- Map Account Name to Company name and the billing address fields to the address.
What comes across
| In Salesforce | In Doodali |
|---|---|
| Accounts | Clients |
| Contacts | Contacts on each client |
| Description | The client’s notes |
What stays behind
- Opportunities: add open ones to Doodali’s pipeline.
- Activity history stays in Salesforce: export it with Data Export if you need a copy.
